Buea is a city in Coastal Cameroon.
Understand
Buea is the capital of the Southwest Region of Cameroon. It was the seat of German Cameroon in the beginning of the 20th century and still has some colonial buildings of interest. The city is at the foot of Cameroon Mountain (Mongo ma Ndemi). Since it is an English speaking locality, many locals consider themselves to be Ambazonians.
Get in
You can get into Buea by land with the use of transport buses or private cars or the local transport cars commonly called Clandos. By land, you can enter the town using the Mutengene-Buea road. The first areas you will meet are the suburbs of Mile 14 and Mile 16.
Get around
The main means of transportation are taxis. Motorbikes are allowed to circulate only within quarters.
