Ampang is a district of Kuala Lumpur which lies to the east of the Golden Triangle. Whilst largely a residential area, it is home to Kuala Lumpur's Little Korea and many foreign diplomatic missions. All other neighbourhoods are mainly residential.

Understand

Ampang is surprisingly cosmopolitan and many expatriates live in this district. Several of Kuala Lumpur's Middle Eastern restaurants were first established here.

The best way to get into Ampang is the LRT Ampang Line which services the  AG18  Ampang LRT station. Taxis and local buses will also get you into this area but are much slower. Buses are the cheapest but they are very slow and difficult. If you are brave you can try driving using the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), however this road carries a toll.
