Angoulême is the capital of the Charente department. It lies about 135km north of Bordeaux in south west France.

By plane
Budget airline Ryanair flies from London Stansted to Angoulême-Brie Champniers airport, about 15km northeast of the town. The airport is also known as Angoulême Cognac.
From Paris, there is a train (TGV) that can bring you to Angoulême in 2h10 (from Gare Montparnasse that is also a Metro station)
Get around
You can get to Angoulême by the very frequent service from Paris Montparnasse, south towards Bordeaux, Libourne, Chalais, Arcachon and further south. You can get corail intercities, TER, and the very well-known TGV, renowned for its speed, and of course Teoz.
