Lesmahagow is a small town historically in Lanarkshire and now within Clydesdale, just off M74. You might visit to see the ruined Priory, or as a rest stop while exploring the scenic upper Clyde valley.
Get in
Lesmahagow is just off the M74 and is clearly signposted in both directions. From Lanark, take the A72 through Kirkfieldbank turning off onto the B7018 (Dillarburn Road). From Douglas, take the A70 and turn off on to the B7078 (Carlisle Road). From Larkhall and Hamilton, travellers should take the M74. There is no railway station in the town, however travellers can take the train to Lanark and take the 258 bus service. There is also a train station in Larkhall; then the 253 takes 20 minutes.
Stagecoach Bus X74 runs every two hours from Glasgow Buchanan Station via Hamilton to Lesmahagow (45 min) and continues south to Moffat, Beattock and Dumfries.
