North America > United States of America > California > Shasta Cascades > Siskiyou County > Cecilville

Cecilville is a city in the Shasta Cascades region of California.

Get in

[edit]

By car, because of scenery and lack of other options, is the best way to go to Cecilville.

From Redding, go north on 1-5 until you come to Weed. Take exit #751 to Old Highway 99. When you get to Gazelle, head west on Gazelle-Callahan Road. Go into the town of Callahan. Do not continue on Cecilville Rd., or else you will get too far ahead. Instead, take S. Fork Rd. That will take you to Cecilville.

Bicycling or walking are the best ways to see Cecilville.

Although Black Bear Mine is now privately owned, you can search the area yourself for gold if you so choose. Just remember to avoid as much erosion as possible, and have a license.
