Church Point is a small city in the center of the Cajun Prairie in Louisiana. Named for the tall steeple of the local Catholic church, this town is home to a large Cajun population and amazing festivals during the year. Its largest and most popular festival is the "Courir de Mardi Gras," the rural Louisiana variant of Mardi Gras, which revolves less around parades, and more on men and women on horseback in costume riding through the countryside to sing, dance, and play pranks on local residents.
