Meriden is a small historic village in the West Midlands, England. It is situated about half way between Birmingham and Coventry. It is said to be the centre of England, but the name of this village actually means "Merry Vale".

Car is the easiest way to reach Meriden, just off the A45 road from Birmingham or Coventry direction in about 20 minutes.

There is no railway station in Meriden, but the village can be accessed by bus. The main route through Meriden is the X1, running from Birmingham (taking 49 mins), Coventry (taking 26 minutes), or Birmingham Airport (taking 11 minutes). This bus typically runs every twenty minutes and the fare is £2.40 single or £4.00 for a day ticket. There is also an hourly X20 service to Solihull and Stratford.

  • 1 Medieval Village cross, Village Green. A 500 year old grade II listed artefact.
  • 2 Church of St Lawrence, Church Lane. A 12th century church, complete with gargoyles. There are several places to eat in Meriden. At the local Manor Hotel, The Bull's Head pub, the Strawberry Bank Hotel. All these provide food, drink and accommodation.

There is plenty to see in the nearby city of Birmingham. Solihull is the nearest town for shopping etc. Kenilworth Castle and Warwick Castle are also nearby.
