Odogbolu is a Local Government Area situated in the north-west area of Ogun State, Nigeria, with an area of 541 km2 and a population of 127,123 as at the 2006 census.

Odogbolu Local Government Area is situated in Odogbolu town and has number of towns and villages in Odogbolu. It has 2 major districts and many villages in Odogbolu. Odogbolu Local Government shares its boundaries with other communities like:

  • To the north, Ijebu- North Local Government
  • To the east, Ikene Local Government
  • To the south, Epe Local Government in Lagos State

From Oshodi motor park, board a bus going to Odogbolu in Ogun State. The fare is about ₦5000 (Jan 2022).

By car

It's about 108 km from Lagos to Odognolu and it will take about 2 hr drive because of the bad road, via Expressway1/E1, Expressway1/Lagos - Ibadan Expy/Lagos - Ojoo Expy/E1 and Sagamu-Benin Expy/A121.

Odogbolu people have native foods that they like eating;

  • Ikokore which is made from water yam. They grate the yam into a paste, add fish and other ingredients to taste. It is like porridge but the difference is you grate the yam before you cook.
  • Ebiripo is made from cocoyam.
  • Gari and Fufu derived from cassava. The Garri can be taken with cold water, sugar and groundnut for drinking. It can also be made with hot water to form a solid food which is called Eba. You can eat the Eba with any soup you desire, so also the Fufu is made on fire and can be eaten with any soup

Odugbolu isn’t well developed yet so most network connection can be very poor but Mtn and Airtel is a good one. It’s peaceful living in Odogbolu but can be boring when there’s no light.
