Entrance to the Cave Temple

Marleshwar (Marathi: मार्लेश्वर) is a place in Sangameshwar subdivision of Ratnagiri district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Marleshwar is known for the Cave Shiva Temple.

It is a treat to ones eyes during monsoon as the hills surrounding the cave temple gets covered with many waterfalls. Dhareshwar is a waterfall on the Bav river which is remains active till early winter post which it dries off.

In summer many poisonous snakes move around freely in the cave temple and it has been said that not one pilgrim has been hurt or bitten by them.

Way to reach is to go to Ratnagiri which is the nearest railhead and from there one can get a bus to Devrukh and change another bus/auto to finally reach Marleshwar.
