The closest train station is in Ilanz, with trains from Chur. From there a postal bus[dead link] runs hourly to Vals (36 minutes).

Get around

Vals is manageable on foot. During the winter season, there is a free shuttle[dead link] bus running through the village.

See

Zervreilasee is a damned lake up the valley its glacial blue surface reflects the surrounding mountain scape, taking in the impressive Zervreillahorn.

  • 1 7132 Thermal baths (Therme Vals), +41 58 7132 010, . July-April 11:00-20:00. The thermal baths in Vals are known especially for their architecture, made of local quartzite and designed by Peter Zumthor. Fr. 80/45 with/without guest card.
  • 2 Vals 3000 (25 km, 6 lifts), +41 81 935 15 50. A rather small ski resort made up of mostly t-bar lifts. Day pass Fr. 49/25 for skiing and Fr. 21 for pedestrians.
