Grantville is a town of 830 people (2016) on the Bass Highway in the Bass Coast region of Victoria. It is a popular stopping point for visitors on their way to or from Phillip Island, located about halfway between the island and the edge of Melbourne.

Grantville is located on the M420 Bass Highway, which is easily accessible from Melbourne, as the M420 route forks off from the M1 Princes Freeway at Dandenong. V/Line operates coaches from Melbourne, Dandenong and Koo Wee Rup to Grantville daily.

Get around

Grantville is walkable, and there's no public transport in town. However, if you wish to access nearby Corinella, where accommodation is available, Westernport Roadlines offers regional bus services from the 1 Grantville-Glen Alvie Rd/Bass Hwy bus stop to Corinella and Coronet Bay, which takes about 15 minutes to get to Corinella.

  • 1 Maru Koala and Animal Park, 1650 Bass Hwy ('Queensferry Rd' V/Line bus stop (on the Melbourne-Phillip Island service) located right in front of the park and 15min walk from town), +61 3 5678 8548, . 9:30AM-5:30PM daily. A popular animal park where visitors can pat, feed and interact with a variety of native Australian animals, including koalas, kangaroos and wallabies, dingoes, emus, parrots and wombats. During weekdays, you can enter into the koala enclosure where there's a keeper talk every hour on the hour, in addition to a reptile presentation at 1:30pm. Aside from the animals, the park also plays host to a mini-golf course and a bistro. $20 adults, $11 children (4-15), $14 seniors, $54 families (2A+2C); Mini-golf extra.

There is no accommodation in Grantville. Nearby Corinella, which is about a 10 minute drive and accessible by bus, has accommodation.
