Thirubuvanai and Tiruvakkarai are two villages at the outskirts of Pondicherry, in Tamil Nadu. Both are home to temples of the Chola period. In addition, there's a wood fossil park in Tiruvakkarai.

  • 1 Chandramouleeswar Temple (Piraisoodiya Emperuman, Vakrakali Temple). 6AM1PM and 4:00PM8:30PM. A Shiva temple believed to have been built during the Chola period in the 10th century. The temple has received gracious endowments from the Chola queen Sembiyan Mahadevi. Shiva is worshipped as Chandramowleeswarar and his consort Parvati as Amirthambigai.
