Santana is a port in Amapá, about 25 km southwest of central Macapá. Macapense nightlife comes this way, and it is also where the larger passenger boats depart for Amazonian destinations. 14.000 population is second Amapá

Its location is nearly on the equator. The planet's second longest river, the Amazon, is to the south.

Santana has developed into the main harbour and industrial centre for the state, and has become the second most populous city.

The main federal road that passes through the city is BR-156, which is largely paved, but has many holes and not every path is paved.

  • Santana Bus Terminal, with direct buses from Macapá, Laranjal do Jari, Mazagão, Porto Grande and Oiapoque.

  • You can go to the port to watch the loading and unloading of imported products and pine chips, and to the floating port for loading manganese pellets.
  • In the center of Santana there is also the Praça Cívica which around it has small restaurants and pizzerias, as well as facing the Church of Nossa Senhora de Fátima and Sant'Ana.

  • On Santana Island, which is on the other side of the city, is the Balneário Recanto da Aldeia, a popular seaside resort on weekends.
  • The most significant event is the Círio de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, which attracts 50,000 people. It takes place on the third Sunday of October.
  • Independente Esporte Clube and Santana Esporte Clube are the football clubs based in the city of Santana.
    • Independente Esporte Clube play their home games at Estádio Antônio Vilela, nicknamed Vilelão.
    • Santana Esporte Clube play their home games at Estádio Municipal de Santana.
