Beautiful stalagmites in the Orgnac Cave

Orgnac l'Aven is village in the Ardèche département, in south of France. It is inhabited by approx. 380 people in winter, which grows about ten times in summer.

  • 1 Orgnac Cave and Regional Museum of Prehistory (Aven d'Orgnac), 2240 Route de, L'Aven, +33 4-75386510, fax: +33 4-75386640. Open Feb 1 to Nov 15 and during Christmas school holidays. The cave can only be visited guided. The temperature inside is around 12C (54F). Adults €14.90, Children (6-14y) €9.90, Students/unemployed €11.90. The ticket price includes the guided cave visit (approx. 1h) and the museum (unguided).
