Get in
[edit]- 1 Hanamaki Airport (HNA IATA). Has domestic flights from Osaka (Itami), Nagoya (Komaki), Chitose (New Chitose), and Fukuoka.
By train, Shin-Hanamaki Station is accessible by the Shinkansen (2.5-3 hours from Tokyo). If your final destination is Hanamaki Station, it is faster to take the Shinkansen to Kitakami and transfer to the JR Tohoku Line. The Kamaishi Line, which connects Shin-Hanamaki Station and Hanamaki Station, only operates about 1 train per hour, so the connections always lead to more time on the train rather than less.
