Русский: Крепость Bourtange (Буртанж, она же Бауртанге, она же «Звездная крепость») — форт в Нидерландах на границе с Германией. Основана в 1580 году во время «Восьмидесятилетней войны» (борьбы Нидерландов с Испанией за независимость). Прикрывала единственную дорогу из Германии на город Гронинген. Крепость относится к бастионной системе укреплений, пришедшей на смену средневековым рыцарским замкам. Подобные крепости стали популярны начиная с 16 века. Высокие каменные стены классических средневековых замков легко разносились артиллерией, поэтому стены стали строить ниже и толще. Претерпели изменения и крепостные башни: им стали придавать пятиугольную звездообразную форму для более полного простреливания пространства перед ними. Постепенно размеры башен стали увеличиваться и вскоре они превратились в самостоятельные крепости. English: Bourtange fortress |
