For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark ADN-ZB Mittelstädt 2.7.87 Berlin: Premiere im neuen Jahn-Sportpark-Mit den Olympischen Tag der Leichtathleten am 8.7.87 wird er traditionsreiche Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark an der Cantianstraße nach knapp einjähriger Rekonstruktionszeit in neuem Gewand wiedereröffnet. Eine 60 m lange Haupttribüne wurde errichtet (im Hintergrund) und auch auf der Gegenseite erstreckt sich ein Dach von 216 m Länge, so daß nunmehr 10 182 Plätze überdacht sind. Vier Flutlichtmasten mit insgesamt 240 Scheinwerfern bieten auch bei Dunkelheit für Athleten und rund 20.000 Zuschauer gute Bedingungen.
