Der neue Bahnhof in Halle-Neustadt. Berufsverkehr aus Buna und Leuna. Täglich wächst die neue Stadt, das größte Wohnungsbauvorhaben in Mitteleuropa. Die Chemiearbeiterstadt ist ein riesiger Bauplatz, auf dem aber schon das Leben der Einwohner pulsiert. Jetzt, 21 Monate nach dem Einzug der ersten Mieter und 34 Monate nach der Grundsteinlegung, aber schon rund 2500 Familien eine neue, moderne Wohnung bezogen. Bereits heute, in der ersten Phase des Aufbaus der künftigen Heimat von mindestens 70000 Menschen, sind die wichtigsten Einrichtungen zur Versorgung der Einwohner in Betrieb. Die größte Kaufhalle der DDR steht in der Chemiearbeiterstadt, in fünf Kindergärten und fünf Kinderkrippen werden die jüngsten Bürger der Stadt liebevoll betreut. Das Durchschnittsalter der Werktätigen von Halle-Neustadt beträgt 23 Jahre. |
