Summary
DescriptionBurdur Ulu Camii 3238.jpg |
English: Translated from another siteː "It was built by Hamitoğlu Dündar Bey in 1300. Çelik Mehmet Pasha was repaired in 1749. It was made as a wooden carcass in 1919 after the earthquake. It is half domed inside. 3 domes cover the second congregation place in the north gate direction. The mosque is made of cut stone blocks. It has a wooden ceiling and tile roof. There are pointed arched windows in two rows on the body walls. The mosque has three entrances to the north, east and west, in accordance with the architectural characteristic seen in the Great Mosques of the Seljuk and Principalities period. The two minarets of the mosque located in the northeast and northwest corners have a very wide body close to the square base cylinder." During a visit I noted it's latest restoration was in 1942. Note the balcony. |
