Français : Le phare patrimonial de l’Île aux Perroquets est associé au thème de l’amélioration de l’infrastructure des stations de phare dans les années 1950, particulièrement dans le golfe du Saint-Laurent. Il constitue un très bon exemple de la modernisation des équipements d’aide à la navigation sur les stations de phare à cette période.
Érigé comme une tour octogonale effilée en béton armé en 1951 pour remplacer le phare en bois datant de 1888, elle a permis une navigation plus sécuritaire pour les bateaux de pêche et les paquebots faisant l’approvisionnement dans la région. Le site comprend sept bâtiments connexes qui contribuent au caractère patrimonial du phare: (1) logement du gardien de phare, construit en 1951; (2) logement du gardien subalterne, construit en 1951; (3) le criard à brume construit datant des années 1950; (4) la forge construite en 1952; (5) la remise à provisions construite en 1954; (6) le poulailler construit en 1952; (7) le hangar à bateau construit en 1908 à 1915. |
