À Rivière-à-Pierre, en 1934, l'imposante sculpture de granit est installée sur deux wagons et transportée par train jusqu'à Québec.

« Dévoilée le 25 août 1934, la pièce de 42 tonnes a d'abord été transportée par chemin de fer jusqu'à Québec, puis par caboteur jusqu'à Gaspé. Du quai, la croix fut entraînée sur des rouleaux à l'aide de palans grâce à la force motrice de l'un des premiers tracteurs à être utilisé à Gaspé. » - lapresse.ca
