Summary

Description
English: This mausoleum was built for Prince Mahmut, son of Beyazit II. During a governorship in Manisa he died in 1507. The mausoleum where he is buried was by architect Yakup Shah bin Sultan Shah, and is very rich in glazed tiles, hand-drawn ornaments and “malakârî” work (a decoration in plaster, using bas-relief). Up to a height of 2,90 meters its walls are decorated with turquoise and hexagonal tiles. Baroque 19th century overpainting has been removed during a restoration in 2013, the original 16th century ornamentation has been restored.
