Taiwan

The "is Taiwan a part of China" debate is an obviously contentious one. The Wikivoyage position thus far has followed Project:The traveller comes first and used the position that since, from a travel standpoint, customs and other rules for visiting China and Taiwan vary differently, the two should be treated separately on this site. This does not mean we're endorsing either side of the debate, it simply means that a traveler needs separate information, so that's how the guide should handle things. I've reverted a recent map change that includes Taiwan as part of China based on the current consensus, but please discuss here or on Talk:China if you feel differently. -- (WT-en) Ryan 03:03, 19 June 2006 (EDT)
