VfD discussion

[edit]

Thoroughly obsoleted by Image:PhiPhiAerial.jpg. (WT-en) Jpatokal 23:59, 29 April 2006 (EDT)

  • The new image has stuff written on it. (WT-en) Ravikiran 03:04, 4 May 2006 (EDT)
    • Keep. I'm not sure which one is better, so I can see the argument for keeping both. Or at least I'd like to hear more before we delete. -- (WT-en) Jonboy 08:26, 16 May 2006 (EDT)
  • I don't see them as interchangeable. For what it's worth, the aerial photo's text could easily be brushed out (though that text does raise the question in my mind about the image's undeclared licensing status). I've brightened-up the hilltop view, which I think makes it a good image. Either one is an individually valid photo... and I'd actually prefer this one for a better sense of being there, and for being more current (i.e. proving it's still there post-tsunami). So keep. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 19:23, 22 May 2006 (EDT)
  • Keep, unequivocally. I would be more inclined to remove the replacement article, since (1) there may be copyright issues with it, (2) the tsunami must have made it at least partially obsolete, and (3) it's not a view a visitor is likely to be able to reproduce. I'm going to remove the VfD banner from this one, and will do likewise for this discussion shortly, unless someone makes a compelling case for a deletion. -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 19:21, 29 May 2006 (EDT)
  • Delete, because there is no information about the license. The uploader doesn't have " an email this user" link and he hasn't been around since November. If someone really wants to keep this I suspect the uploader is an editor on Wikipedia and someone could attempt to find him there. - (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 19:36, 29 May 2006 (EDT)
