Jangipur, Dhuliyan and Farakka are three towns in the central region of West Bengal.

Understand[edit]

Jangipur is an old town and said to have been founded by the Mughal emperor Jahangir. During the early years of British rule, it was an important centre of the silk trade.

Dhuliyan is a quiet town with people having riverside lifestyle. Local people of this place spend a lot of time on the river and by the riverside. It is a no-fuss river town where you do not have to be pressurised by the regular tourist hassle but can enjoy the riverside activities like boating and fishing and long river-walks.

Farakka is a popular picnic spot with the Farakka Barrage. It surrounded by water channels and canal. Deer are nurtured in a park on the bank of the Ganges. The project is covered by much greenery and has a full, fresh airy atmosphere to live a peaceful and healthy life. At the end of October, various types of migratory birds come here and stay up to February.
