The I/58 road from Ostrava to Rožnov pod Radhoštěm passes through the town.

Kopřivnice is located on the railway lines Ostrava–Štramberk and Studénka–Veřovice. The town is served by two train stations: Kopřivnice and Kopřivnice zastávka.

• 1 Moravian Gate (Moravská brána). A natural geographic pass that marks the border between the Carpathians and the Bohemian Massif. It has historically served as an important route for trade and migration, connecting northern Moravia with southern Poland.  
• 2 Štramberská Trúba. A historic tower offering stunning views of the town of Štramberk and the surrounding landscape. Once part of a medieval castle, it now stands as a prominent landmark.  
• 3 Hukvaldy Castle. One of the largest medieval castles in the country, nestled within a vast forest. Known for its picturesque ruins and cultural events, it also offers nice views of the surrounding countryside.  
• 4 Technical Museum Tatra (Technické muzeum Tatra). Showcases the legacy of the Tatra automobile company, one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world. Visitors can explore a unique collection of historical vehicles, from early models to revolutionary designs. It is split into multiple (non-adjacent) buildings: one shows the passenger vehicles, while the other focuses on trucks and similar.  
• 5 Kanihůra (Bílov viewing tower). The modern, architecturally distinct tower provides panoramic views of the Moravian landscape, including the Beskid Mountains.  
• 6 Příbor. City/birthplace of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. Visitors can explore Freud’s family home, now a museum, to learn about his early life and the impact of his revolutionary ideas.

• 1 Šipka (Šipka (národní přírodní památka)). An area of 29 hectares that protects an important archaeological site and relic flora. The area made up of Jurassic limestone is named after the neighbouring town Stremberský karst, of which Šipka is the most famous.  
• 2 Velký Javorník. A well-known tourist spot with a view of the surrounding area. On the top there is a tourist hut that is open all year round (except Mondays), but does not provide accommodation. There is also a lookout tower at the top. About 30,000 tourists climb Velký Javorník every year.
