Flora and fauna

Lake Malawi boasts the largest number of endemic fish species in the world — 90% out of the around 1000 species of fish in the lake can't be found anywhere else in the world. Due to this, the lake is of great interest for scientists researching evolution. Highlights of the land part of the national park include baboons and an old baobab tree where David Livingstone gave sermons.
