Heleshi (often referred to by its Tibetan name Maratika) is located in the eastern Middle Hills of Nepal and is a popular pilgrimage site for adherents of Tibetan Buddhism.

[edit]Haleshi is the name of the village nearest to the site of sacred caves where Padmasambhava and his consort undertook three months of ritual that resulted in them attaining a state beyond life and death. Consequently, the caves are associated with practices pertaining to longevity.
