Omitlán, also known as Omitlan de Juarez, is a small city in the central Mexican state of Hidalgo. Omitlan is a pleasant small town of over 1000 people (2010), but not particularly noteworthy.

[edit]From Pachuca, take a taxi to Omitlan. It's only about 18 km (11 mi) and will cost about M$100 (May 2023).

[edit]- La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Refugio (Church of Our Lady of Refuge, Parroquia de la Asuncion), built in 1848, the pink granite facade is unmistakable. Inside is a cleanly designed nave with little of the ornamentation of earlier Mexican churches.
- Peña del Zumate, rugged rocky terrain, ideal for rock clibing and hiking. Climb the rocks, ascending through a huge crack between the rocks.
- Bandola Waterfalls, Beautiful waterfall with water tumbling over a boulder-strewn drop of about 30 meters.
