Ramsey (in Manx, Rhumsaa) is the third-largest town on the Isle of Man. It is set on the coast with a magnificent backdrop of the North Barrule hills. The town has a long promenade, a busy working harbour and a wealth of small specialty shops. Ramsey also has the Mooragh Park, 40 acres of gardens and a fine boating lake with a lakeside cafeteria.

Get in

Ramsey is connected to Douglas and Laxey by the Manx Electric Railway. Alternatively there are frequent buses to Ramsey from Douglas and Peel.

See

• 1 Albert Tower. This Gothic Revival tower commemorates the visit of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1847. It is built on the hill from which Prince Albert viewed Ramsey. 
• 2 Mooragh Park. A 19th century park with a boating lake (boats can be hired) and with a play area for children. 
• 3 Grove House (Grove Museum of Victorian Life). A well-preserved Victorian farm operated by Manx National Heritage.

Heading west along the TT Course will take you to Peel. Heading south over the mountains will give you the opportunity to visit the island's only mountain higher than 2000 feet, Snaefell.
