Raufarhöfn is Iceland's most northernmost town with approximately 200 inhabitants in North Iceland.

Get in[edit]

By car[edit]

You can get to Raufarhöfn on road 874 from the southwest (paved) from Husavik or road 85 (paved) Þórshöfn / Vopnafjörður from south-east or directly from road 1 in the south via the Dettifoss and road .

Alternative you can get to Raufarhöfn from the north-west around the peninsula on road 870 (unpaved) via Kópasker.

By plane[edit]

Raufarhöfn airport is few kilometers south of the town, but is apparently not serviced by any airlines. The closest airports serviced by airlines (Iceland Air) are Akureyri airport and Þórshöfn airport.
