Santa Caterina Villarmosa is a little town of 4,900 people (2021) near Caltanissetta in Sicily.

[edit]- Mother Church (Chiesa Madre), built in the 17th century, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception. The interior, with three naves, is rich in frescoes. The church is in Piazza Garibaldi.
- Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie (Sanctuary of the Holy Madonna delle Grazie), dating back to 1600, in via Roma.
- Archaeological site of Cozzo Scavo, an ancient settlement of the Iron Age; the finds found are kept in the Archaeological Museum of Caltanissetta.
- Church of Purgatory (Maria Santissima del Suffragio), from 1648, between via Ruggero Settimo and via Avvocato Gallina.

[edit]- 1 Contrada Scaleri geological oriented nature reserve (Riserva naturale orientata geologica di Contrada Scaleri) (about 2 km east of Santa Caterina Villarmosa). The scientific interest of this area is linked to the existence of karst microforms , called Karren , in the evaporitic rocks and their lithological variabilitycontributes to the diversification of forms, moreover the semi-aridity of the climate favors the conservation of morphologies.

[edit]Walk every evening up and down in the "Piazza" and "Via Roma". Especially in summer it's full of people. When you are tired you can sit in a bar and drink an espresso or eat ice cream and look at the people walking in the piazza.
