Sveg is the largest town in Härjedalen, Sweden, and its municipal seat.

Get in

The regional gateway Härjedalen Sveg Airport has two daily connections with Stockholm (stop-over in Mora) on weekdays and one on Sundays. All flights are handeld by NextJet [1].

During the summer months it is possible to travel by train on Inlandsbanan which passes by Sveg. These tourist trains are slow but passes through wonderful scenery on their way.

Sveg is also served by regular but not frequent bus service. At least in the winter, the nearest service by train is Ljusdal.

Get around

Sveg is generally small enough to walk around. Rental cars can be had at Rent in Sveg AB.

Do

There seems to quite a lot of boating and fishing opportunities in the surrounding area, and quite a lot of winter sports. Thoose interested in history may want to check out the church and cemetery, as well as the Gammelgarden Museum. Nearby in Ostersund is the remarkable Jamtli Museum.

Respectable food is served at the Myskoxen which is located near the center of town. Groceries can be had at the Konsum.

Alcohol is served at the Myskoxen, and one or two other places.
