Hi Apalaria - thanks for all your work on the India article. You are doing a great job, and I am sorry to keep reverting your edits regarding the list of cities and other destinations. However, Wikivoyage policy states that lists of destinations can only consist of nine places maximum. Also, regarding the name Bangalore, Wikivoyage uses the most common English name for destinations, not their official title. Please see Project:Article naming conventions. Also, I recommend that you take a look at the Project:Help article before you proceed further. Otherwise, you may find that all your edits will have been reverted. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks again for contributions. Cheers (WT-en) WindHorse 08:19, 15 December 2006 (EST)

Hi Apalria - changing the list of cities is not an arbitrary decision. First you must raise the issue on the India Talk Page and then try to achieve a consensus of opinion. So, sorry again, but I have revert your edits again. Please try to read the information on the Project:Help page to save you trouble. Thanks for your co-operation. Cheers (WT-en) WindHorse 10:08, 15 December 2006 (EST)
Yes, really. Please discuss on Talk:India first. (WT-en) Jpatokal 13:07, 11 February 2007 (EST)

I think adding a sleep, eat and drink section to this article would be useful. What do you think? (WT-en) WindHorse 09:49, 17 February 2007 (EST)

Agree. Thats what I've called "culture, Food, Shelter".

Please don't edit it now, because I am still adding info that I am losing everytime you edit. Appreciated. (WT-en) apalaria

OK. That's my bad habit to edit while others are adding info. Sorry...Anyway for sleep, I was thinking of something like:

Sleep[edit]

Yamnotri

  • Place one
  • Place two

Gangotri

  • Place one
  • Place two

What do you think? Is it necessary or not? It's up to you as you know the place. (WT-en) WindHorse 10:04, 17 February 2007 (EST) Ps. The first line on top of the page is a standard set up: Name of place is in [[]]. Blurb...

Sorry man, but some of your edits are being taken from other sites eg:[1]. This contravenes the copyright regulations and they will need to be take out. Thanks. (WT-en) WindHorse 10:29, 17 February 2007 (EST)

Sleep section[edit]

Thanks. I think your input makes sense. Unfortunately, I cannot name specific places (too weak memeory) to stay at those places. Those places have lots of ashramas, dharamshalas, and what you would call "motels". Often, you get a place to spend the night even without paying any large amounts of money. It's just like a donation, if you know what I mean. But I have no issues with anyone who knows specific names going and adding them in there. (WT-en) apalaria, 10:35 EST, Feb 17, 2007

OK. Maybe we could add the sub headings and that will encourage future visitors to add the details. What do you think? Also, the 'Stay safe' section needs to re-added. Here, it is probably not a matter of crime, but snow or rock falls (snakes?). Anyway, the article is looking good, but the copied sentences will need to be removed as I explained above. Cheers. (WT-en) WindHorse 10:34, 17 February 2007 (EST)

Changed my opinion. I think what you have written about the cheap motels and ashrams is sufficient for the moment, but the matter of copy edited work needs to be dealt with. Please give reasons for switching Char Dham for Madrai on the Talk section for India. Otherwise, it will be reverted. Thanks. (WT-en) WindHorse 10:39, 17 February 2007 (EST)

Opposition[edit]

My only opposition to Char Dham going on the front page is that it contains work copied from other web sites (eg:[2]), which contravenes the copyright regulations. If you can clean that up, then I will not oppose it being listed on the main India article and will not longer revert your changes. Can you do that? Thanks. (WT-en) WindHorse 11:08, 17 February 2007 (EST)

Sure, I'll do that, but can't right now. Once I have cleaned it up, I'll let you know. Till then, I am not going to revert your change for Madurai. (WT-en) apalaria 11:26 EST, Feb 17, 2007

That's great. Thanks for your co-operation. Actually, Char Dham sounds an interesting place. I must make a point to go there in the future. Cheers. I appreciate you contributing your insights about it. (WT-en) WindHorse 11:27, 17 February 2007 (EST)
