Neturei Karta[edit]

I reverted a change to (WT-en) your user page made by an anonymous user. I don't understand the change, but it seemed unlikely that you made the change yourself. If you did, apologies. -- (WT-en) Jonboy 17:50, 25 April 2006 (EDT)

Quite so. Thanks. Should report this to a moderator and have this guy's IP blocked, maybe. Thanks for noting and restoring it. (WT-en) Daniel575 2 May 2006
Wikivoyage prides itself on not blocking users or IP addresses. I am quite surprised myself, but it seems to work. In particular, that IP address hasn't made any changes since then. I'll add your user page to my watch list just in case, but we seem to do a good job of spotting vandals. (Any edit to a user page that isn't by that user draws my suspicion.) -- (WT-en) Jonboy 16:56, 2 May 2006 (EDT)

Holy lands[edit]

Daniel,

You may be interested in working on this article - One month in the Jewish Holy Land. Any help with it would be appreciated. - (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 20:20, 29 May 2006 (EDT)

Consensus[edit]

We work by consensus here, Daniel, not by one person making a unilateral decision based on his interpretation of the site's guidelines. I've put List of Egged lines back on the VFD page, where it belongs until a consensus is reached about how to deal with it. - 20:50, 29 May 2006 (EDT)

And retaliatory VFDs against other articles are not going to make your case for you. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 20:56, 29 May 2006 (EDT)
I'd just like to add my support to what Todd & others are saying here. We do appreciate your contributions, but we also need some guidelines. Bus timetables have proven almost impossible to maintain, so current guidelines are that we don't create articles for them and instead simply mention in the "Get in" section of city articles that buses are available from certain companies to other destinations. While I and most other people here are willing to work with you to get your content included, calling people anti-Semites, creating retaliatory VFDs, and ignoring the consensus process that is used here will lose you support quickly. That said, it is understood that there is a learning curve in the Wiki process, so please try to understand that people here are not against you, and we'll be glad to work with you. -- (WT-en) Ryan 22:08, 29 May 2006 (EDT)
You are totally unaware of what you are talking about. This is not a timetable but a list of lines. Which cannot be found anywhere else. The only way for me to find these things is to observe every bus stop and bus station and write things down. Once I have the information, I can check a little bit of it through the Egged site, but that's it. For many other lines, especially city buses, there is no source at all -- not online, not on paper, nowhere. The only way to find out is to get underway and ask other travellers. There is no other way to find out. And there is no case of 'retaliatory VFDs' - it's simply called enforcing the rules fairly. My articles goes, those articles go. Or none of them. User:(WT-en) Daniel575
Hiya Daniel. I just have to start out by saying how cool it is that you did all that first person research, nice work! I think the issue here is that you've contributed some very useful stuff that isn't anywhere else, and I dont think at this point anyone is against having it on the site, it's just a matter of where. I think it would help if you thought of our guidelines less as "rules" and more as, well, guidelines. We're all just figuring out this stuff as we go along. In fact, we sometimes change our minds! I think working on a case-by-case basis makes the site better in the long run, even if it might seem faster to have an all-or-nothing approach. Anyway, you can be sure that none of this is personal, we're all just trying to help out fellow travellers! (WT-en) Majnoona 00:01, 30 May 2006 (EDT)
I'll second that emotion. I'm also impressed by the amount of legwork that must have gone into assembling this list of lines, and I'd like to find a place for that data in our guide. Please understand that everyone here is trying to advance the project towards its goals, and we appreciate the amount of work you did to get us closer. --(WT-en) Evan 00:23, 31 May 2006 (EDT)

External links[edit]

Hi, I reverted a recent change of yours to Zutphen. Check out Project:External links which explains how, when, and where we do and don't link to other sites. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask. -- (WT-en) Colin 18:13, 12 June 2006 (EDT)

I'll put the links in the article as internal links, that should be ok, as far as I understood. --(WT-en) Daniel575 06:41, 11 July 2006 (EDT)

User Page Vandalism[edit]

Daniel, it appears that some vandals have altered your user page. We restored the original. If you ever want to edit your user page, be sure you are logged in when you do it so that we will know it is really you making the change. -- (WT-en) Colin 00:42, 4 July 2006 (EDT)

Thanks! --(WT-en) Daniel575 06:40, 11 July 2006 (EDT)
