Alavus is a town in Southern Ostrobothnia.

[edit]Alavus is a town of around 11000 inhabitants at the Lapua river. Undoubtedly the biggest draw is the Veljekset Keskinen department store in the village of Tuuri (10 km east of Alavus downtown).

[edit]Local trains between Seinäjoki and Jyväskylä stop at Alavus station, as well as at Tuuri.
By bus
[edit]You can likewise get in by bus from Seinäjoki and Ähtäri.
By car
[edit]Alavus is at the crossing of highways 18 between Vaasa and Jyväskylä and 66 between Orivesi (near Tampere) and Lapua.
Get around
