Aqqala is a city of 35,000 people (2016) in northern Iran, 20 km north of the larger city of Gorgan.

[edit]- 1 Aqqala Bridge. The bridge was constructed in the 9th century with repairs being made later during the Safavid dynasty.
- Mubarakabad Fort (former name of Aq Qala) is an old castle that is now ruined. Only the southern walls and a little from the north wall to its south are left.
- 2 Gorgan Great Wall (or the Great Wall of Alexander, دیوار بزرگ گرگان). The remains of a 200-km wall run several kilometers north of the town from Gomishan east to the Golidagh mountains. It is believed to have been built in the 6th century CE.
