Budslau (Budsław, Budslav) is a village in Minsk Province, Belarus, mostly notable for the National Sanctuary of the Mother of God of Budslau.

Understand

Much of the village's history in XVI-XIX centuries revolves around the monastery of Franciscans Observants (commonly called Bernardines in this region; not to be confused with Cistercians who also sometimes go by the name of Bernardines). The icon of Virgin Mary which is now the basis of the monastery's fame was originally presented by Pope Clement VIII to Jan Pac, a wealthy local nobleman, on the latter's pilgrimage to Rome, and then donated to the monastery.

Budslau is reachable by train (Maladziechna-Kruliaushchyzna railway line) or by car.

• 1 Sanctuary of the Mother of God of Budslau (Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary). A huge Baroque church with the status of Minor Basilica, the home of a venerated icon of Mary. It is a target of yearly religious pilgrimages.
