Naurzum State Nature Reserve is in the Kazakhstani North. Together with the Korgalzhyn Nature Reserve it forms a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The landscape is mainly steppe with some pine and birch forests.
Flora and fauna[edit]
The fauna of the park is fairly similar to northern Europe including elk, foxes, wolves and a wide range of rodents.

The park is on the Turgai plateau, about 150 km southeast of Kostanay and 400 km northwest of the national capital Astana.
