Nymburk is a city in Central Bohemia region of the Czech Republic. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.

Nymburk, founded around 1275 as a royal city, is located at the mouth of the Mrlina river and the Elbe (Czech: Labe). The town is situated on both banks of the Elbe River and lies at the confluence of the Elbe and Mrlina rivers.

It was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. The city has around 15,000 inhabitants (2019).

The city is located around 53 km east of Prague.

By plane

The nearest international airport is Praha-Ruzynĕ Airport, west of Prague. Getting through Prague by car is not easy.

By train

Nymburk is located around 11 km north of the Dálnice 11 motorway, which leads from Prague to Hradec Králové (Königgrätz), exit 25. From the direction of Liberec, take the Dálnice 10 motorway past Mladá Boleslav and then continue on the Silnice highway from exit 39 38 directly to Nymburk. Coming from the south, if you want to avoid Prague, you can drive via Vlašim and Kolín.
