Passaic is a city in New Jersey.
Understand
[edit]Passaic was first settled in 1678 by Dutch traders as Acquackanonk Township. Around 1870, Passaic was designated as its own city. It is bordered on three sides by Clifton, and on the fourth by the Passaic River. It is ten miles from New York City.
More than two thirds of Passaic residents are Hispanic or Latino. However, there is also a sizable Orthodox Jewish community in Southwest Passaic, also known as Passaic Park.
