Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise is a resort in the French Alps.
Understand
[edit]The old village lies on the main road between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Val-d'Isère. About 4 km above the village (turning left at La Thuile) is the ski resort of Sainte Foy (referred as Sainte Foy Station).
The mountain's highest point is the Col de l'Aiguille at 2620 m, with a vertical drop of just over 1000 m. There are around 20 pistes, four chairlifts, one Green and one Blue-grade trail, various Red runs and one groomed Black run with another three marked off-piste.

Get in
[edit]By train
[edit]The nearest train station is Bourg-Saint-Maurice, which is served by TGV and local services. In the winter months, additional services operate; Eurostars direct from London, Thalys trains from Europe, and the ski train sleeper from Paris. This is some 15 km away however, so coach services provide the onward connection; the journey takes about 30 minutes in good weather.
By bus
[edit]Cars Région run buses to Tignes and Val d'Isere. The schedule is favourable for travel from Tignes/Val d'Isere in the morning, and departing from Tarentaise in the evening. It is unfavourable for the other way round: the earliest departure from Tarentaise is 12:15, and the latest departures from Tignes and Val d'Isere are around 3-4pm.
By car
[edit]You can rent a car on the Swiss side of Geneva airport. There is limited free parking in Tarantaise. You can drive to Tignes and Val d'Isere in less than 30 minutes.
