The control tower at Oslo Airport, Gardermoen

Gardermoen is a town in Norway, housing Oslo's main airport Gardermoen. Your only reason to stay here would be some time between flights.

Get in

Train is fast and convenient, buses may work out cheaper and have more destinations. Taxis are sometimes terribly expensive. (See geting to and from Oslo Airport)

By car

To the airport: It is easy to get to the Gardermoen from the E6 motorway (a four-lane slip road right up to the Airport Terminal). Follow the signs to Gardermoen on the E6 until the exit for RV 174. Follow the signs to Terminal all the way to the Airport.

By bus

Buses that stops just outside the airport:

Bus company Routes (to and from)
Ruter (see travel planer) Local buses within the Romerike area
Flybussen Airport bus Oslo-Gardermoen-Oslo
Nor-Way Bussekspress Express buses to and from Oslo and many other destinations
Nettbuss Shuttle Buses to hotels and buses to many other destinations
Askeladden Reiser Sunnvolden - Ringerike - Jevnaker - Gardermoen - Sunnvolden
Lavprisekspressen Hamar - Lillehammer - Trondheim and return (once daily)

By taxi

Be aware that taxi in Norway can be extremely expensive. At the airport taxi stops are located right outside the terminal building.

By plane

A large number of aircrafts are arriving and departing from the airport. Many airlines operate flights to international destinations. Most domestic flights are operated by the airlines Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Norwegian Air Shuttle and Widerøe.

By train

Gardermoen Station (Oslo Airport) is located in the basement of the terminals at the airport.

  • NSB - Norwegian State Railways operates trains from Gardermoen to all stations on the Norwegian railway network. Where there are no direct trains from the station, you have to change trains at Oslo S (Central Station). NSB trains to Oslo are slower than the Airport express train.
  • Flytoget (The Airport Express Train) is the fastest option by train from or to Gardermoen towards Oslo, Asker and Drammen. Costs more than NSB trains.

Get around

Save your money: Don't take a cab. Virtually all hotels here have pick up services, sometimes at a small fee. Just give them a call upon arrival.
