Coolah is a town in the Central West New South Wales, a state in Australia.
Warrumbungle Shire Council is located within the foothills of the Warrumbungle and Coolah Tops mountain ranges, halfway between the regional cities of Dubbo and Tamworth. Highlights include waterfalls plunging from the plateau heights, giant grass trees and tall, open forest with stands of huge snow gums shelter abundant wildlife, including gliders, wallabies, eagles and rare owls. There are plenty of activities to do. The higher altitude offers cool walks throughout the year and amazing views northward towards the Liverpool Plains. There are opportunities for picnicking, as well as car-based, caravan (very limited) and backpack camping, with a choice of sites all at the western end of the park.
