Lenakel is a small town in Tanna in Vanuatu.

Understand

[edit]

Lenakel is on the west coast of Tanna Island.

Get in

[edit]

By car

[edit]

There is a road called White Sand Road, which goes across the island east to west. Saltwater road leads from White Grass Airport to northern Lenakel and through the downtown, and South Beach Road goes along the southwest coast of the island.

By boat

[edit]

There is a marina on the main bay in Lenakel.

Get around

[edit]

The main road is Saltwater Road, which runs along the coastline. White Sand Road heads northeast out of the town, and goes to White Sands on the other side of Tanna Island.

See and do

[edit]

Apart from the tropical rainforest and beautiful bays, most of Tanna's attractions are not in Lenakel. Most of Tanna's sights are near White Sands and White Grass to the north. However, there are blue holes (good diving locations) along the coastline at Lenakel, much like White Grass.
