Asia > South Asia > Bhutan > Western Bhutan > Mebisa

Mebisa, formally called Chukha, is a town in Chukha district. It has a population of 2,855.

Understand

[edit]

Chhukha is a new town based around a hydroelectric plant. While it is located in a lush and attractive valley, the town itself resembles a jumble of tenement blocks lifted from New York. Fortunately, buses en route between Thimphu and the border pass above the town, and so there is no need to spend any time there.
