The port of Guayaramerin

Guayaramerín is in the northeastern part of Bolivia.

Understand

Guayaramerín is separated from Brazil by the Mamoré River.

Get in

By taxi

Take a shared taxi from Riberalta. In dry season, you can come as well by shared taxi from Trinidad or San Joaquin (the latter is Bs. 180, 7 hr, may be overnight). The bus (and shared taxi) terminal is out of the town, quite far away.

By plane

Guayaramerín has a small airport serviced by TAM (Transporte Aereo Militar) and Aerocon.

By boat

If you're adventurous and have time, come to Guayaramerín by boat via Mamore river from near Trinidad (3-7 days, depending on the water level; ask in Trinidad) or even Santa Cruz department (Puerto Villaroel).

Get around

The town is small enough to reach most places on foot. Mototaxis (Bs. 4-5) and tuk-tuk (Bs. 10) are available.

Small boats take you on the five minute trip across the river into the Brazilian border town of Guajará-Mirim.
