Faya, also known as Faya-Largeau a city in Saharan Chad.
Understand
Faya is the largest city in northern Chad, the capital of Bourkou-Ennedi-Tibesti prefecture. Faya has a population of about 40,000 (2012). During the colonial era, the town was renamed Largeau, while after independence, it was initially known as Faya-Largeau. Due to the considerable underground water supply in the town, agriculture is the main industry. Three lakes lie immediately north of Faya.

- Boubouk Hotel. A small village of reed cottages just off the airport. There are no beds, just traditional rugs on the floor. Shared showers and toilets. Prices start at FCFA 10,000 per night but are negotiable.
