Map
Map of Shanghai/Changning

Coming from outside Shanghai, you will find that Changning is home to one of Shanghai's biggest transport interchanges, with 1 Hongqiao Airport (mostly handling domestic flights) and 2 Hongqiao Railway Station Hongqiao Railway Station (offering high speed rail connections to other cities), right next to each other.

The district is well served by Metro from other parts of Shanghai. Lines  2  and  10  run east-west from downtown to the airport and railway station, while lines  3  and  4  run north-south across the eastern part of the district.

Get around

3 Zhongshan Park Metro station is a major hub where lines  2 ,  3  and  4  meet; it also gives access to the park and a large shopping mall. Line  10  also runs through the district, roughly parallel to line 2 but a bit South of it. Lines 2 and 10 both go to Hongqiao railway station and airport.

Pandas in Shanghai Zoo
  • 1 Shanghai Zoo (Shanghai Zoo stop on metro line 10, or 45 minute bus ride from Renmin Sq #925). Summer 06:30-17:30; winter 06:30-16:30. See the giant panda and many more exotic animals at this spacious and modern zoo that's for the most part a far cry from the concrete animal prisons found elsewhere in the country (such as Beijing). Be prepared for some some shocking behaviour by other visitors. Note that the good amount of space given to the animals means that a lot of walking is involved. There are some fairground rides for the children as well. ¥40; children less than 1.2m (3ft 11in) in height are free with paying adult. Shanghai Zoo (Q3182046) on Wikidata Shanghai Zoo on Wikipedia
