Huxi (湖西 Húxī in Mandarin, Ô͘-sai in Minnan) is a rural township in the Penghu Islands of Taiwan.

Understand

Huxi Township includes ten minor islands. There are many villages in the township. Among them, Guoye village is famous for its sunrise since it is at the most eastern corner of Penghu main island.

• 3 25 May Memorial Stone (華航525空難紀念碑). China Airlines Flight 611 bound for Hong Kong crashed in Penghu 25 May 2002. The Boeing 747-209B operating the route disintegrated in mid-air and crashed into the Taiwan Strait 43 km northeast of the Penghu Islands 20 minutes after takeoff, killing all 225 people on board.
